The rapid growth of Dealroom.co requires a Senior Backend Developer with experience in Go driving further adoption and scaling of microservices. In recent years, Dealroom has become a well-recognised company in the startup ecosystem, with a reputation for high-quality content & data for Venture Capital firms, Corporates, and Governments. Additionally, our insights and content frequently make headlines at The Economist, Financial Times, The New York Times, and other leading titles.

By writing new and improving existing Golang microservices, you’ll help to scale our platform globally and reach organization goals. As part of the Backend engineering team, your main objective is to help us reach our ambitious targets by developing performance, scalable and well-tested (micro)services. Working closely with colleagues in the Frontend, Devops, Data teams as well as Product Owners, to improve and utilize our assets. In this role you are responsible for improving the Go skills of the rest of the Backend team so you have great internal impact!

Your tasks and responsibilities*
As a Senior Backend Developer, you will be:

• Helping us to build the next generation large scale systems.

• Working closely with engineers, data and product owners in order to build and design features at a large scale.

• Designing, building and maintaining dealroom APIs and systems.

• Analysing and solving complex problems across the stack.

• Putting your skills to the test, allow yourself to grow and learn rapidly.

Your background*

• Minimum of 10 years experience developing distributed applications, 4+ years developing microservices.

• Professional experience with Go is a must, other languages like PHP, Typescript, Python, are a plus.

• Experience with various SQL or NoSQL databases.

• Knowledge of modern queueing and caching systems like RabbitMQ and Redis.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.

• Creative problem solving skills.

• Comfortable with working in a multicultural, remote and fast-growing startup work environment

• Living in the Netherlands with an EU citizenship or already in the possession of a Dutch working permit

• Fluent in English. Any additional European language is a great advantage
